1970 Dodge Charger 500 vintage commercial

They don't make them like they used to! Cheesy 1970s attempt at sex appeal. So tacky, it's funny. 1970 Dodge Charger 500 vintage retro commercial.

Sex has always been an integral part of the auto industry, especially when it comes to muscle cars. The idea that buying a fast car will help you get “chicks” is as old as fast cars themselves. Knowing full well that there were a good deal of people who would buy muscle cars to compensate for other things companies like Dodge produced TV spots emphasizing the sexy side of their cars. You didn’t need to be a stud to pull the ladies anymore, all you needed was a Dodge Charger 500 and a beach to park it on, the girls would simply come to you. Even a square like me could pull the ladies in a Dodge Charger 500, who could resist flip-open headlights and an optional Hurst shifter.

Of course car makers are still pushing sex, but now the manufacturers have realized that women buy cars too, so they have started targeting females as well, and it is not uncommon to see women behind the wheel with the men outside drooling. The more things change the more they stay the same.
